I hurt my back so badly that I was barely able to get out of bed all day, except to go to a holistic accupuncture doctor that my mom calls “Dr. Groovy”. Not leaving the house all day would be absolutely perfect any other day, but the new Vogue is out today, my subscription hasn’t come yet and I can’t leave the house to grab one. I have had time to start a few other September issues, however, so for today I’ll talk about my two favorites this far: Glamour and British Vogue.
Glamour
Victoria Beckham should really just take over the whole entire world because this magazine was so well put together that I wanted to tear out every page and put them on my wall. One of my favorite parts were the polls this month, which asked the best questions! The cover shoot was stunning, and I love the way the colors for this month are consistent throughout the whole layout, not just the cover. Also, the second cover reminded me of my favorite Louis Vuitton “Sugar Me” advertisement which I did a post about a couple months ago.
British Vogue
This month’s British Vogue was basically all of my favorite things put together: Karlie Kloss, ridiculous Prada-Miu-Miu-esque prints, and hot pink. This time I actually did photocopy half the pages and I do plan on putting them on my wall! The first page in the magazine is a SIX PAGE Ralph Lauren ad followed a few pages later by a Miu Miu MIRRORED TIE!
The spreads were incredible. Some of them had warm, rainbow-ish hues that made me want to dive into the page. Others had more white/empty backgrounds with blurred lines or water that made it softer and beautiful. Some of my favorites are pictured below.
I’ll post about US Vogue and some others tomorrow! Now I’m going to go lie in pain!
(But if anyone wants to come bring me ice-cream and a Miu Miu mirrored tie that would probably make me feel better and I would also love you forever.)
